About CAROLINA PARRA

Carolina Parra vividly recalls the scent of perfumes from her childhood: the fragrances her grandmothers wore and the thoughtful gifts her father chose for every special occasion. For her, perfume was never just an accessory—it was an invisible narrative that connected her family, a symbol of love and memory that continues to shape who she is today.

This deeply personal connection to beauty goes far beyond appearances. As the Marketing & PR Director for Latam and TR Americas at Sisley, Carolina leads with an unwavering belief: real beauty starts with authenticity. It’s an inward journey where every story, every detail, becomes part of what makes us unique.

Carolina sees beauty as a reflection of values, not just aesthetics. “Beauty isn’t about what we try to perfect, but about what we choose to care for and nurture,” she shares. This principle guides every decision she makes, fostering an approach that prioritizes ethics, sustainability, and meaningful impact.

Her leadership feels like a call to collective authenticity. Carolina is deeply committed to amplifying real voices and creating spaces where everyone can feel represented. Beyond traditional standards, her vision celebrates individual stories and the unique qualities that define us.

But her impact extends beyond words. Carolina doesn’t just talk about holistic beauty; she lives it. For her, physical, emotional, and mental well-being are deeply intertwined, and self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s an essential tool for empowerment. “It’s not about how you look; it’s about how you feel and how you care for yourself that truly transforms your life,” she says.

With a narrative that blends authenticity, purpose, and passion, Carolina Parra inspires not only those she works with but also anyone seeking to redefine beauty from a place of truth and significance. Her story invites us to embrace what’s genuine, to lead with values, and to discover beauty as a unique expression of who we are.

How has your perception of beauty changed since taking on a leadership role, and how has this evolution influenced your professional decisions?

The perception of beauty has evolved towards a more inclusive, personalized, and wellness-focused vision. This shift also impacts how decisions are made in professional settings.

Authenticity has become a core value for those in leadership positions. The idea of projecting an image rooted in naturalness and confidence has gained traction. Instead of conforming to traditional ideals, leaders across various fields are prioritizing authenticity and honesty as an extension of their personal values. This has led to leaders projecting a more approachable and relatable image, which, in turn, fosters more human and inspiring leadership.

The emphasis on sustainable beauty has deeply resonated with leaders. Concerns about the environmental and social impact of beauty products have become key factors in decision-making. Leaders of brands and companies are increasingly committed to transparency, ethics, and sustainability, which directly influence their choice of suppliers, business partners, and product design.

In my case, it is very important that the values of the company I work for align with these principles.

What strategies do you use to balance external pressures about appearance with your personal values of beauty and authenticity?

I believe it is important to develop a personal concept based on what one values and feels is best. Practicing self-care from a holistic wellness perspective, focusing on health, energy, and how one feels rather than solely on appearance, is essential.

Good nutrition, exercise, sleep, and emotional self-care are fundamental components that influence both external appearance and internal feelings of well-being.

Choosing conscious beauty products that align with my values—natural, sustainable, and cruelty-free—fosters a connection to a form of beauty that resonates with principles of authenticity and alignment.

What is the most significant lesson about beauty that you have applied in your life, and how has it shaped your approach to empowering others?

True beauty comes from authenticity and inner well-being. This concept has transformed the way I view empowering others, leading me to understand that beauty cannot be solely defined by social norms; rather, it is a personal expression of who we are, how we feel, and how we care for ourselves.

I believe it is important to create spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves. Empowering others means focusing on helping them recognize their own inner qualities, their stories, and their unique traits as the true essence of what defines them.

How do you use your influence to redefine beauty in a way that empowers women and promotes authentic representation?

I believe it is important to highlight and celebrate beauty in all its forms. By amplifying authentic and real stories, we invite more women to feel represented and valued.

Prioritizing holistic beauty and well-being—focusing not only on physical appearance but also on mental health, self-care, and personal growth—is essential. Redefining beauty from an integral perspective encourages women to prioritize their well-being and authenticity over imposed standards. In this way, we provide tools that empower women to feel more confident, free, and capable of defining themselves on their own terms.

What challenges have you faced in attempting to change the beauty narrative in your environment, and what were the keys to overcoming them?

The key is not to be swayed by fleeting trends or fads. Instead, it is crucial to focus on continuous improvement and promote products rooted in knowledge and research. This means being selective about what we embrace and prioritizing well-informed decisions that respect both personal well-being and the principles guiding our approach to beauty.

How do you think beauty standards are evolving, and what role should the media play in shaping them?

The evolution of beauty standards is a dynamic and multifaceted process, driven by various cultural, social, and technological factors. Today, there is increasing recognition of the importance of diversity in the representation of beauty.

Beauty is being redefined more and more in terms of well-being. Consumers value products that promote health and self-care, leading to a more holistic approach.

Digital platforms have empowered individuals to share their own definitions of beauty, challenging traditional narratives. This has enabled many to be more critical of industry-imposed standards and to seek more authentic representations.

The media must strive to include diverse and authentic representations in their content, moving away from the stereotypical images that have long dominated the industry. They also have a responsibility to educate their audience about the importance of authenticity and self-care. By sharing information on healthy and positive ways to care for oneself, the media can steer clear of messages that promote unrealistic beauty standards.

Additionally, media outlets should critically examine and question traditional beauty norms, analyzing their impact on people’s mental and emotional well-being. By doing so, they can foster a dialogue that challenges these notions and encourages greater acceptance of diversity.

Media must also be responsible in their use of images and editing, avoiding excessive retouching that perpetuates unrealistic beauty ideals. Transparency in the use of filters and retouching can contribute to more honest representations.

How do you incorporate your personal values into your beauty rituals, and how does this influence your well-being?

For me, wearing perfume is a fundamental part of my routine, as it evokes very special family memories.

From my grandmothers, who always valued the importance of a good fragrance, to childhood moments when my dad would gift perfumes to my mom, my siblings, and me, this tradition became a meaningful symbol. It turned into a cherished family ritual that I carry with me every day.
