About TANIA VILLASEÑOR

Tania Villaseñor understands beauty as something that transcends the visible. From her earliest steps in the industry, she discovered that behind every color, every texture, and every story lies something deeper: a reflection of who we are. Her career, spanning over a decade and weaving through worlds as diverse as professional makeup, public relations, and editorial writing, has led her to a simple yet powerful truth: beauty begins when we feel comfortable in our own skin.

For Tania, beauty is like a letter written to the world, an intimate language that communicates who we are without uttering a word. But that letter must be written with self-love, not shaped by the unattainable standards that have tried to define us for so long. “When you feel good, you look good,” she repeats like a mantra, reminding us that no makeup, cream, or treatment can replace the glow of someone who is at peace with themselves.

In her work, Tania turns this philosophy into action. She treats every word she writes and every collaboration she undertakes with the same care an artist uses to paint a canvas. She studies the DNA of the brands she works with, searching for authentic stories that highlight identity and celebrate diversity. She doesn’t write just for the public; she writes for the version of herself who once felt like she didn’t fit in.

Her voice has become a bridge to transform conversations. She talks about mental health, the importance of authenticity, and how beauty can be a tool for empowerment and self-love. Tania believes that beauty standards aren’t evolving—they’re disappearing. More and more, we are moving away from “wanting to be” and toward simply “being.”

In her own nightly rituals, Tania finds the same sense of magic she seeks to share with others. As she removes her makeup and indulges in aromatherapy, she feels like she is cleansing more than just her skin—she is resetting her mind, like preparing a blank canvas to paint a new story the next day. To her, beauty is not a destination; it’s a journey, an ongoing invitation to reconnect with who we are at our core.

Today, Tania Villaseñor is more than a beauty professional; she is a storyteller and a creator of spaces where everyone can feel seen. Her mission is not just to redefine beauty but to show that, in the end, every face holds a universe waiting to be discovered.

How has your perception of beauty changed since taking on a leadership role, and how has this evolution influenced your professional decisions?

I have worked in the beauty industry for over 10 years. On the brand side, the client side, in editorial, as a makeup artist, and even in PR. And if there’s one thing I’ve realized, it’s that the meaning of “being beautiful” or beauty isn’t found in the external part of a person—quite the opposite. The world of beauty tells a story, a reflection that comes from within, and by feeling good and comfortable in our bodies, we can fully reflect the art of being authentic to others. Beauty is a feeling, and I would define it as being the best version of ourselves for the world.

From a professional perspective, I always choose to work with brands that embody this vision. The beauty industry is beautiful. I always strive to include great storytelling in my writing.

What strategies do you use to balance external pressures about appearance with your personal values of beauty and authenticity?

The way I balance these external pressures is through education. I enjoy informing and explaining to the person (or project) in front of me the importance of using beauty tools as a means to enhance our essence and highlight our identity. It’s incredible to see the power communication holds in the world of beauty and how it can make someone feel.

Little by little, more of us are breaking down these absurd and unattainable barriers and standards.

What is the most significant lesson about beauty that you have applied in your life, and how has it shaped your approach to empowering others?

We may hear it everywhere, but the following phrase is so true: “If you feel good, you look good.” There’s no makeup, cream, or treatment that can add that special sparkle to your eyes like the happiness you feel inside.

If we learn to accept every inch of our body at every stage of life and start highlighting the best of ourselves, we will have truly understood it all. For this reason, taking care of our mental health should be an essential part of our beauty routine.

How do you use your influence to redefine beauty in a way that empowers women and promotes authentic representation?

Having a journey across different editorial roles has given me an enormous opportunity and responsibility to change the direction of the industry and how others perceive the world of beauty. I strive to highlight the story behind every brand, studying their DNA to communicate through my writing what many of them aim to achieve: empowering individuals through innovation, unique ingredients, and techniques that reflect self-love at every step.

I carefully choose each word, writing for that younger version of myself—Tania—who at one point may have felt excluded from certain beauty standards. My responsibility is to transform the conversation into a path filled with diversity and self-love.

What challenges have you faced in attempting to change the beauty narrative in your environment, and what were the keys to overcoming them?

Undoubtedly, there are still people in the industry who, unfortunately, continue to celebrate certain unattainable standards for commercial reasons or simply because they don’t want to take risks. Slowly but surely, the path has cleared, and the conversation about the importance of mental health has gained momentum. This has opened the eyes of many individuals in decision-making positions.

How do you think beauty standards are evolving, and what role should the media play in shaping them?

I wouldn’t say that standards are evolving; rather, they are disappearing. We now carry a new banner and understand that if we want a certain hair color or style, it’s less about “wanting to be” and more about simply being. Authenticity is our new foundation. Makeup and style are tools we use because they make us happy and highlight our personality—our inner beauty.

We are embracing color and styles as a way to better communicate who we are and how we see life.

How do you incorporate your personal values into your beauty rituals, and how does this influence your well-being?

I love enjoying aromatherapy when removing my makeup and washing my face at night. It feels like a reset for my mind while simultaneously clearing away all the impurities from my skin. Using a facial cleanser that leaves my skin feeling soft is also essential.

I would define this step as preparing a clean, blank canvas to write a new adventure the next day.
